On May 14, 2016, following the fragrance of the late spring and early summer, the Yuhuan CNC Youth League Committee organized nearly 100 young employees to carry out the May 4th Youth Day theme activity of "Zeng Guofan's Former Residence Humanistic Journey": to understand the thoughts and wisdom of the masters of Chinese traditional culture, Accept the influence and baptism of a generation of great men, great Confucianism, hard-working and simple "family style. The former residence of Zeng Guofan is located in the town of Lotus Leaf in the east of Shuangfeng County, Loudi City, Hunan Province. Under the guidance and explanation of the tour guide, we focused on visiting the former residence of Fuhou Hall, Siyun Hall and other scenic spots. In Fuhou Hall, there are two great men of modern China, Mao Zedong and Jiang Zhongzheng, who spoke highly of Zeng Guofan's plaque. Mao Zedong commented: "Fooled by his neighbors, he served Zeng Wenzheng alone, and watched him take care of Hong Yang's battle, and he was perfect. So that today's people change their positions, can they be as perfect as others?" Jiang Zhongzheng even regarded Zeng Guofan as a teacher: "His painstaking perseverance, self-reliance, self-reliance, self-improvement, has been enough to be our teacher!" It shows Zeng Guofan's great achievements and historical status in his life.

In the "living room" of the former residence, the family's ancestral eight-character tactic of governing the family is particularly conspicuous. "Books, vegetables, fish, pigs, morning, sweeping, examination, treasure", Zeng's family attaches great importance to education, so they put reading in the first place: reading, growing vegetables, raising fish, feeding pigs, getting up early in the morning, cleaning, examination is to sacrifice ancestors, treasure means to live in harmony with neighbors and respect to elders. Zeng Guofan once wrote the plaque "Su Yong and Ming", that is, to tell the clansmen and future generations: to be respectful to people and to treat people in harmony, this is a priceless treasure for people. This kind of thinking has a very valuable guidance and reference significance for the family style construction of future generations and modern society.

In the "Eight Bentang", there are eight very famous family precepts of the Zeng family, the content of which is: "Reading ancient books is based on exegesis, writing poems is based on tone, doing things is based on pleasure, keeping the body is based on less anger, establishing the body is based on not making false words, staying at home is based on not giving up, staying in an official is based on not giving money, and marching is based on not disturbing the people." It can be said that it is the essence of Zeng's family motto, and it is also the foundation of Zeng Guofan's thought of "self-cultivation, family harmony, governance and peace of the world" in his life. In the former residence of Siyun Hall, we saw Zeng Guofan's place of filial piety for his father Ding You, which also embodies the strong "filial piety" culture in Zeng's family motto, and sets up a monument and benchmark for future generations.

Opposite the former residence, there is a lotus pond that complements the layout of the former residence. Walking along the lotus pond path, I feel my thoughts and mood suddenly become clear. Looking at the lotus leaves in the pavilion in front of the half-moon pavilion around, looking at the magnificent mountains and towering ancient trees in the back of the mountain, this feeling, this scene, people into the scene, suddenly can not help but give people a kind of "understanding the morality of life, gathering the aura of heaven and earth, view the mind of the world" of the soul of the touch and feeling.

Self-cultivation, building up faith, inspiring ambition and shaping character are the most direct feelings brought to us by the "Humanistic Journey of Zeng Guofan's Former Residence", and it is also a life experience journey for our Yuhuan young employees to surpass themselves.
