As the core component that protects the watch dial, the quality of the watch crystal directly determines the product’s appearance and user experience. Sapphire watch glass, known for its exceptional hardness and wear resistance, has become the preferred choice for mid-to-high-end watches. However, its high machining difficulty also presents significant processing challenges.
Polishing (Core Process):
1.The sapphire substrate is first secured onto a dedicated fixture.
2.Ultra-fine polishing compounds, such as diamond slurry or cerium oxide, together with soft polishing pads such as polyurethane wheels, are then used to polish both surfaces sequentially under high-speed rotation.
3.Throughout the process, pressure, rotational speed, and processing time must be precisely controlled to achieve nano-level surface smoothness while preventing any scratches or “orange peel” defects.
